I even checked the autosave location on my PC and could see two auto save folders for the document. however, Word auto recover is showing the document as it was over a week ago! This is not an isolated incident either, with Word 2013 auto recover. The XL documents all appeared in auto recover as expected and all data was recovered.

However, MS automatic updates forced my PC to reboot overnight killing all running applications, not I have also been saving the document regularly, as I go. Autosave is switched on for autosaving every 10 minutes.
